OLEODYNAMICS

Oleodynamics is an important area of mechanical engineering. It concerns with the research on energy transmission through under-pressured fluids. Oleodynamics sector keeps on developing and expanding all over the world. This is due to its technical advantage over alternative technologies.

Italy exercises an important role on the European market, and it is among the first oleodynamic component producers and suppliers all over the World.
SOMET is among the best companies; thanks to our flexible and competent structure, we are able to support middle-sized and big companies, some of which are global market leaders.
Oleodynamics sector has largely been developing over the last ten years, in spite of its main disadvantage in respect to pneumatic systems, that is, the use of potentially pollutant fluids in case of loss. The sector has been able to meet this need by spreading new-born systems based on non-pollutant special fluids. SOMET has always been involved in creating better and better solution for this issue.

In Oleodynamics, oil is an important component, constantly interacting with all devices. Its main role is to transfer energy from the source to the end, not to forget to lubricate all circuit parts and to prevent temperature raise, thus avoiding components to wear out.

There are several types of fluids on the Market. They are selected depending on their specifics: viscosity, lubrication, resistance, hygroscopicity, flame resistance, low noxious rate.
The oil movement in a circuit is started by a pump and used to move a jack or a hydraulic motor depending whether the needed mechanical effect (force or movement) is to be linear or torque. The cylinder is the classic oleodynamic actuator, built of a jacket in which a piston slides; piston moves a jack, which starts the motion. For torque motion, a good example is to think of wheels on land moving machines like excavators or tractors or even capstans for fishing nets on fishing boats, which need high motor couple and low angular velocities. For all these uses, SOMET puts its expertise on the line for its customers, together with all best techniques studied on final product.
